2004 EBNA Conference was held in the Westbury Hotel, Dublin, on 21-22 April.
Ireland held the EU Presidency in the first half of 2004. Accordingly, a meeting of
EBNA was held in the Westbury Hotel, Dublin, on 21-22 April. Invitations were sent
to the National Archivists of the 15 existing Member States and the 10 Accession
States (the States that joined the EU in May 2004), and 21 States were represented at
the meeting. Observers from the European Commission and the International Council
on Archives were also present.
As the work of the expert group was nearing completion, and as many of those
attending the EBNA meeting were also members of the expert group, the meeting
was devoted mainly to an informal review of the work of the expert group and its
sub-groups. The meeting also received and discussed oral reports and
communications concerning the work of the DLM Monitoring Committee, the
European Council Resolution on Cinematographic Works, the European
